Hey Space Cowboy are you feeling the Stress? The modern world is filled with information overload, news coming from the television , radio and an endless supply of emails phone calls and people wanting your attention. You need to tone it down a little. With all this information coming at you on a constant basis it’s kind of like playing an emotional tennis match. Here are a few tips to help you ease the stress and be a little happier and maybe just a little more productive to boot!

Be aware of your own thoughts , the main cause of misery in the world is from are own thinking . Be mindful of your thoughts and observe you own patterns of thinking. Recognize that you don”t “have to” spend your time thinking about negative stuff. You are only making it worse . Give yourself permission to let some things pass and focus your energy on creating a happier existence and focus on the results that you wish to accomplish vs how you feel about it.

Which brings us to the meat of the matter. Every Thought that you have is an energy and all the things that you allow into your experience is energy also. Is what you are watching on TV or the type of programing that you listen to on the radio , the music you listen to ..Positive? Well how does it make you feel? Chances are not to good or you wouldn’t be so stressed! It’s Important that you manage those influences in your life . I guarantee that if you are sitting on the couch watching a show about how to win a million you aren’t making a million. Likewise if your listening to there’s a “tear in my beer” kind of music , I doubt that you are having the type of relationship that really lights your fire. It’s these prevalent influences in your life that act like a self hypnosis . Do yourself a favor and turn it off or change the channel to something good or better yet read a good book and feed your brain with the good stuff.

Learn how to meditate: You don’t have to be a New Age Guru type to Meditate. Although Meditation is apart of every spiritual tradition , meditation in it’s simplest form is really no more than learning how to quiet the mind . It’s kind of a way to take a little time out to recharge your batteries everyday so that you have the energy to handle what life brings your way.

Exercise everyday: We all here how good it is to exercise but how many of us do it. All it takes is a half hour out of your day to get your body moving , that little bit is enough to get the pumps working and allow your body to produce natural endorphins that help you to feel good . If your feeling good chances are you aren’t stressing out over something….

Eliminate those chemicals: Caffeine , Nicotine, alcohol…….no wonder your amped up all the time . Clean out your system an free yourself from the roller coaster ride that dependence to these chemicals put on your brain chemistry. Instead feed for body healthy and high energy foods (we aren’t talking fast foods here). With a healthy diet you don’t need all those stimulants .

So really all that thinking you’ve been doing really hasn’t been helping you . Give yourself the freedom to relax a little . Be mindful of your own thinking and how you allow outside influences to effect you and take good care of yourself. Remember you don’t have to play Tennis unless you want to.
